There have been lots of positive comments from passers-by of the work taking place along Warwick Park by Richmond Place. The residents have cleared the woodland and last year iron railings were added, which clearly caught the eye of the judges at the Tunbridge Wells Civic Society.
Andy Hempleman and Mark Robson who installed the railings accepted the award from the Mayor with our chairman, Neil Williams also present. Andy is also keen to point out that further improvements are on the way. A yew hedge was planted earlier this year along with a Tupelo tree as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee. The whole project is a team effort with many of the residents involved in helping with painting and planting and shows what can be done with community involvement.
The awards were a big night for WPARA residents, who picked up three of the seven property awards. Congratulations also go to Ms Zal Hassan for the redevelopment of South Riding on Upper Cumberland Walk and to Mr & Mrs E Broderick at 38 Warwick Park for the distinctive wooden walled pathway and landscaping of their front garden.
