POLICE
Emergencies Dial 999 for crimes in progress or significant emergencies.
Immediate Action Call 101 and the police normally react within the hour.
Please make sure you are talking to Kent Police. Tunbridge Wells is on the Kent/Sussex border and if you are calling from a mobile phone it is easy to get routed to Sussex Police. Amazingly the police phone system is so poor it cannot transfer you to the neighbouring force so you can waste time speaking to the wrong area and only have to do it all again with Kent Police.
Non-urgent You can report incidents online https://www.kent.police.uk/ro/report/

LOCAL APPS
There are a several free local apps for your smartphone or tablet that can be useful for knowing what’s going on in the area and for getting help and advice.
InYourArea
This is a local news and information app that tailors information to your postcode. You can read local news stories, check the weather and get live bus and train times as well as traffic updates. It also includes useful community information as well as up to date planning applications, council notices, things to do, funeral notices and lots more.
Nextdoor
A local community information app. You simply register and it allows you to select your local area. There are over 600 people registered in the Warwick Park group, although this is a much bigger area than what WPARA covers.
Nextdoor can be a good way to find local tradespeople, either searching for recommendations in the past or putting out a request for someone. You can also sell items and find out about local events. Some of the debates on local topics can get a bit heated, so we recommend staying off that unless you want to be bombarded with notifications!
